Party Beef Casserole

This recipe is time consuming - but totally worth it! The flavor is incredible. Enjoy!

Party Beef Casserole

INGREDIENTS:

3 tbsp flour

1 tsp salt

½ tsp pepper

2 lbs boneless round steak

2 tbsp oil

1 cup water

½ cup beef broth

1 clove garlic, minced

1 tbsp dried, minced onion

½ tsp thyme

¼ tsp rosemary

2 cups sliced mushrooms

2 cups frozen peas, thawed

3 cups mashed potatoes (mixed with only milk & butter)

1 tbsp butter, melted

Paprika


HOW TO PREPARE:

In a large plastic bag, combine flour, salt & pepper. Add beef cubes & shake to coat. In skillet over medium heat, brown beef in oil. Place beef & drippings in a greased 13 x 9 inch pan. To skillet add water, broth, garlic, onion, thyme, & rosemary; bring to a boil. Simmer, uncovered, for 5 minutes. Add mushrooms. Pour over meat, mix well. Cover & bake at 350° for 1 ½ to 1 ¾ hours or until beef is tender. Sprinkle peas over meat. Spread potatoes evenly over top. Brush with butter & sprinkle with paprika. Bake 15-20 minutes more.
