Angel Biscuits

Another tried and true recipe from my youth. These biscuits are fabulous. I also use this recipe in my Biscuit-topped Chicken Pie recipe. I personally like these biscuits for breakfast with butter and grape jam. YUM!

Angel Biscuits
INGREDIENTS:
2 ½ cups flour
2 tbsp sugar
2 tsp baking powder
¾ tsp salt
½ cup butter, cut into slices
1 cup milk
1 tbsp yeast dissolved in ¼ cup warm water

HOW TO PREPARE:
Grease pan. In a small bowl, whisk together warm water and yeast. Set aside.

In a food processor, add 1 cup of flour and the slices of butter. Pulse until smooth. Move flour mixture to a bigger bowl and add remaining ingredients, adding milk and yeast mixture last. Roll dough into ball and knead on floured surface 20-25 times. Pat into ½ inch thickness and cut until mixed well. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until browned. Oven 400 degrees.
