I was making Australian Meat Pie and read that mushy peas are a nice side dish. Intrigued, I did some research and found this recipe. How can you go wrong with these ingredients?
Mushy Peas
INGREDIENTS:10oz frozen green peas
1/3 cup heavy whipping cream
1 tbsp butter
1/4 tsp black pepper
dash of salt
HOW TO PREPARE:
Bring a shallow pot of lightly salted water to a boil over medium-high heat. Add frozen peas, and cook for 3 minutes, or until tender.
Drain peas, and transfer to a food processor - I used an immersion blender. Add cream, butter, salt, and pepper, and process until blended, but still thick with small pieces of peas.
Adjust seasonings to taste, and serve immediately.
