Ranch Macaroni and Cheese:
1 package (16oz) elbow macaroni - or any other kind of pasta
1 cup milk
1/4 cup butter
1 envelope ranch salad dressing mix
1 tsp garlic salt
2 cups shredded cheese (I used cheddar and colby jack)
1 cup sour cream
1/2 cup crushed saltine crackers
1/3 cup grated parmesan cheese
Cook macaroni according to package directions. Meanwhile, in a large pot, combine the milk, butter, dressing mix, and garlic salt; heat through. Stir in cheese until melted. Stir in sour cream.
Drain macaroni; stir into cheese sauce with the saltines. Sprinkle with parmesan cheese. I personally like to add peas to this recipe - one more way to sneak in those vegetables!
